I am a psychoanalytic psychotherapist in training with the Philadelphia Association.

I offer a supportive space in which, together, we can put into words and work through whatever might have left you feeling stuck, uncertain, lost, mad, or in despair.

About psychoanalytic psychotherapy:

Psychoanalysis starts from two ideas: that the past informs the present and that there is a lot about ourselves that we don’t know.

Over time, and through the special kind of speaking and listening that takes place in psychoanalytic psychotherapy, we can change our relationship to the structures, thoughts and feelings that cause us to suffer.

Being cured may be a fantasy, but a good therapy can support repair at an emotional and relational level. It can bring greater clarity and freedom, deepening our capacity for work and struggle, love and play.

About me:

I have extensive experience of one-to-one and group work in NHS, voluntary-sector and grassroots settings, including with survivors of trauma and violence.

I believe strongly that psychoanalysis can support personal and social change. I am committed to making this kind of psychotherapy more available to communities that have not traditionally been able to access it.

I endeavour to provide a queer- and trans-affirmative and anti-racist space. I do not pathologise sexuality or gender identity, religious or spiritual belief, unusual experiences or political commitment.

I am a trainee member of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy and abide by the UKCP’s code of ethics and professional practice.

How it works:

I find that a frequency of at least one session per week is conducive to a good therapy. Where appropriate, we might meet more often. Work can be open-ended or for an agreed time period.

Fees are subject to income and can be discussed during the initial consultation.

I practise in Hampstead, South Norwood and online.
